About this listing
Welcome to Tan Yr Eglwys, a beautifully restored Welsh retreat nestled on the quiet, historic Church Street in the charming village of Cilgerran. Just a stone’s throw from the ancient church and tucked between rolling countryside and the dramatic River Teifi, this lovingly renovated home is where city escape meets village peace, and where your next adventure begins.
Owned by David and Kirsten, who, with their Welsh roots cherish every visit here, this is more than just a holiday let, it’s a home. They’ve poured their hearts into creating a cosy, welcoming space that reflects their love of nature, history, and the simple pleasure of slowing down. Their wish? That you feel as at ease and inspired here as they do – whether you're curling up with a book or exploring the winding riverside paths.
Inside, you’ll find three thoughtfully furnished bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The warm and welcoming living room is ideal for relaxing evenings, while the well-equipped kitchen makes dining in a pleasure. From the soft linens to the gentle lighting and rustic touches, every detail invites you to unwind.
Outside, the enclosed garden is a private haven, with a BBQ area perfect for al fresco meals on summer evenings. Off-road parking for two cars means arriving is easy – and once you’re here, you might not want to leave.
But if you do, adventure awaits. Stroll out your front door and you’re just moments from the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve, a haven for birds, otters, and walkers alike. Follow the scenic footpath along the river into Cardigan, with its independent shops, cafés, and the restored Cardigan Castle. Head the other way and discover Cilgerran Castle, perched dramatically above the Teifi Gorge.
And just a short drive away lies the stunning West Wales coastline, with its golden beaches, hidden coves, and breathtaking coastal paths. Spend your days spotting dolphins off Mwnt, enjoying an ice cream in Poppit Sands, or walking the Wales Coast Path with the sea breeze in your hair.
Whether you're here for wild swims, coastal hikes, market town charm, or simply a deep breath of Welsh air, Tan Yr Eglwys offers the perfect base to reconnect – with nature, with loved ones, and with yourself!
David and Kirsten warmly welcome you to experience their escape from the city – and to make it yours too.
